Privacy policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
This notice explains, in plain English, how Declyn handles your personal information under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
Declyn is run by Aidan Maguire, trading as Declyn, in Pretoria, South Africa. Aidan is the responsible party and information officer for your personal information. You can reach him at aidan@vantaflows.com.
What we collect on the waitlist
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- your name, email address and mobile number;
- your mobile network and whether you use an iPhone or Android;
- how you’d mainly use Declyn (personal, family or business) and whether you want a founding member spot;
- that you gave consent, and when;
- where you heard about us, if the link you used tells us (for example a referral tag);
- a one-way, scrambled code (a salted hash) made from your internet address. We use it only to stop spam sign-ups. It isn’t your actual IP address and we can’t turn it back into one.
Why we collect it
- To contact you about Declyn’s launch and your founding member spot.
- To plan the launch: for example, which networks and phones to test first.
- To keep the waitlist free of spam and abuse.
We only process your information because you agreed to it when you ticked the consent box. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing. Your details are stored with our hosting providers (Supabase for the database, Netlify for this website), who process it for us and may store it outside South Africa under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until Declyn launches and we’ve contacted you, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. If you become a customer, your details move to your account and a full privacy policy for the service applies.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email aidan@vantaflows.com from the address you signed up with and we’ll handle it within 30 days.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
Calls, recordings and transcripts. When Declyn launches, it will answer and record calls so it can pass on messages. Before launch we’ll publish a full privacy policy covering call recordings, transcripts and summaries: what’s kept, for how long, and how callers are told. Nothing about calls is collected by this waitlist.
